The 13-inch MacBook Air didn’t get an update, so it still ships with a 1.6GHz Core i5 processor, 8GB RAM, and a 128GB SSD. That extra $100 may not seem like much, but for the budget conscious it may be enough to keep them out of the Mac ecosystem. The 11-inch MacBook Air started at US$899, so now the cheapest laptop Apple offers is the 13-inch Air starting at $999.
The 13-inch MacBook Air is still available, but now the 12-inch MacBook is the smallest screen laptop Apple offers. Apple dropped the diminutive Mac laptop from its online store on Thursday following the “hello again” event where new Retina MacBook Pro models were introduced.
